XJ6 Diversion is driven by a newly developed 600cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke inline 4-cylinder engine that has been specifically designed to produce faster performance along with an easy, predictable and linear power band.

This new design uses the basic architecture of the highly successful FZ6 engine - and shares that bear x stroke dimensions. However, although the external appearance similar machine with FZ6, XJ6 Diversion engine is equipped with a variety of new models, special features.

Every major feature on the new XJ6 Diversion engine, and cylinder head, crankcase, intake / exhaust system, clutch and shifter have been developed specifically for this new middleweight. By optimizing the new engine gas flow - from the air / fuel mixture to the combustion and exhaust processes - Yamaha team of engineers have succeeded in creating a highly responsive and characterful new engine with linear and rider-friendly torque character.
